Don’t Stop the Reading! 2021 Summer Reading Programs from DBRL!

With the start of summer comes the fun of summer reading programs.  Avoid the summer slide by encouraging your student to read.  One of the most exciting summer reading opportunities is the Books by Snail Program which is available for all Harrisburg students K-12 (incoming kindergarten through graduating seniors) and runs from May 24 until August 14, 2021.  This free program, available from a state library grant, will provide your student with books through the mail using their DBRL library card.

You can sign up using the paper form that may have come home with your student (elementary forms will come home in Friday folders on May 14), or you can use the links below to sign up online.  If your student does not already have a DBRL library card, you’ll find those applications linked below.

In addition to Books by Snail, DBRL has additional Summer Reading Programs for students of all ages.

If you have questions about any of the summer reading opportunities, please contact Toby Class at or Jennie Simpson at
