Harrisburg R-VIII 2020-2021 Re-entry Plan

Harrisburg R-VIII 2020-2021 Re-entry Plan

As we approach the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year, we have developed an alternative plan that we will
use in the event that we are not able to begin school under regular circumstances. This plan intends to encourage good hygiene practices, quality education, and keeping our kids academically challenged. This plan is subject to change in order to best meet the needs of our students, staff, and community.

Harrisburg School District will make reasonable best efforts to minimize risk; however, attending our schools
in-person will introduce a greater risk for exposure.
In the case of high-risk health factors, please contact the building level principal to inquire about alternative
learning opportunities.

Plan Introduction:
This plan will outline three pathways for instruction during the 2020-2021 school year based on the level of risk
present in our community and school district:

Low/No Spread: No confirmed cases with students or staff within the district.
Minimal/Moderate Spread: At least one staff member or student tests positive for COVID-19.
Substantial Spread: In-person attendance rate is below 80%. Multiple confirmed cases among students and staff
within the district.
