Summer School 2020
We are currently in the planning stages for Summer School 2020. To reserve a spot for your child please complete the online registration form. Register your child according to the grade they will enter during the 2020-2021 school year. To ensure that we have an appropriate number of teachers and staff please turn in the registration form by Friday, June 5th.
This summer our school district is planning to offer three weeks of in-seat summer school from July 20th through August 7th, 2020. Summer school will be five days a week from 8:00 a.m.– 3:00 p.m. and will be free of charge. The district will provide transportation. Enrollment will end on Friday, June 5th, 2020. Breakfast and lunch will be served, and will operate, using the same system used during the regular school term. The free and reduced lunch program also applies to summer school. Students should plan to purchase meals, or bring lunch, in the same way they do during the regular school year.
Summer school will look a little different than in past years. First, it will not be as long. Second, students will not receive an incentive for attendance. The district has chosen to use lessons created by its teachers, rather than the “Summer Journey” program. Although we have opted to create our own curriculum and lessons we still plan to have a relaxed format with a focus on reading and math using engaging methods to achieve learning (of course there will still be an opportunity to have fun).
As we plan to offer summer school during these dates, we also understand that the landscape of the COVID-19 pandemic is ever changing and unpredictable. As the Center for Disease Control and Boone County Health Department continue to provide guidance regarding social distance, gathering of large groups, and precautionary measures we will work to incorporate those into the summer school program. Student safety is our top priority. We will continue to provide updates as we receive information and make plans. We hope to see you at the end of July!

If you have completed a hard copy of the enrollment form you may return this to the Administration Building Monday through Thursday 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
