Symbols of the United States
Webquest

Introduction:Have you ever wondered where the Statue of Liberty came from?  Why the U.S. flag is red, white, and blue?  How the Liberty Bell got a crack in it? Or who wrote the Star Spangled Banner?  In this webquest you will travel around the country and learn about some of the most important symbols in the history of the United States of America.

Task: During this webquest you will travel to different sites to learn about some of the most famous American symbols.  You will travel through America and discover many interesting facts about these symbols.  As you travel, you will choose at least four of the symbols and take notes over them on the Information Sheet provided by your teacher.  At the end of your trip through America, you will create a "Traveling America Brochure."  Your brochure will include important information to other people that may come to visit the United States.
