TEACHER FEATURE TUESDAY: Today’s featured teacher is Ms. Hannah McCrary. This is Ms. McCrary’s first year teaching first grade at Harrisburg Elementary and her fifth year in education. Before becoming a Harrisburg Bulldog, she taught for two years in Hallsville and for three years in Columbia.
Her first grade partner teachers shared the following:
“Hannah does a great job coming up with activities that are both beneficial and fun for students. She is helpful and she always has a positive attitude. I really enjoy working with her and I'm so glad that she is part of our first grade team!” - Ms. Carlee Wilt
"It’s been great adding Hannah to our team this year! She is always willing to pitch in and help prep things for our learning activities and has lots of good ideas for helping students be successful in the classroom. We’re lucky to have her!" - Mrs. Samantha Carey
Elementary Principal Gabe Burris added that “Hannah has been a great addition to our team. Her positive attitude and calm approach to the classroom are contagious. She puts in a tremendous amount of effort making sure things are just right for her students. We are fortunate she chose to be a Bulldog!”

4th graders have been working hard on fractions on a number line and equivalent fractions. They shared strategies for problem solving and had great collaboration!
8th grade STEAM classes exploring the changes in states of matter by using ice to tie dye T-shirts.
First graders had a math task on Friday to figure out how many cubes it would take to fill a whole Tower Race game board, a game we play at school. Several wrote an equation for the whole board which was 1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9+10= Students got with partners and used cubes and whiteboards to problem solve. Then each partnership got to share their thinking with the class. We saw each group do something a little different, but each had the same answer. They did a great job! 🤩
Last week our fifth grade students collaborated with their peers to create poetry after reading mentor texts.
